Backyard Jam

Well, we missed the Cruise Night Friday, which was a huge bummer. We spent the rest of the weekend working on the backyard. This backyard project is pretty much going to consume all of our free time and money for the foreseeable future. IT WILL BE WORTH IT. A place to chill. A place to grow a garden. A place to bbq. And of course the hot tub. My body feels like I survived a run in from a locomotive... just barely. And here I thought I was in shape. I could really use that hot tub right now.

This weekend started with buying a ton of supplies, researching gravel and trees, and busting out the concrete side strip. Then it was full bore on Sunday of digging up the rose bushes and clearing all the mulch.

Before shots. Now, this is what the yard looked at when we were looking at the house before we bought it. It looks pretty nice! But after a winter of rain it was just disgusting. Weeds were everywhere. The mulch was just gross as they used a plastic barrier underneath that just retained water.
