Smoke 'em if you got 'em

I've probably used that title before. So today was the day. My RD350 has been down for 2-1/2 years. Moving, money, time... it's always been put aside. I finally got the engine rebuilt, my first time. I had my buddies Larry and Diego, experts, over to help me jet the carbs and time the engine. After they did their magic which consists of tossing Rune stones, random guessing, and pixie dust, it started the 3rd kick. That puts a smile on my face!

Mods:
Bore increase, Wiseco pistons
Y-boot and K&N Air filter
Radio Shack Home Alarm battery
DG Exhaust Chambers

Issues:
1. I lost the clutch retaining clip so I had to put the side cover off my RD400 on instead. Currently using that side cover and clutch pushrod. Need to buy a new retaining clip.

2. Leaking oil out of the push rod seal. I think it's a faulty seal.

3. Petcock needs rebuilt. Seems to be a bit leaky.

4. Points and concenser need replaced. Just maintenance and needed to be able to time correctly.

Other than that it's all cosmetic. I just need to break it in and it's smokin' time!
Make sure to watch in HD!

Rock Star

Obama rocked, as expected.
Did anyone catch the Republican Rebuttal?

I think we made the right choice.

A pile of snot

I'm home sick today. Usually when I'm sick I can do housework or something to kill the boredom. But today is one of those "100% I am sick" days. I've been snuggling and napping on the couch with the dogs. I had to cancel tonight's dinner plans. Tonight was our Valentine's Day dinner. Yay me.

Durka Durka

This is why I spent my President's Day off weatherstripping the house.

raindrops keep falling

Nya nya. Lori has to go to work today and I don't. I've already had to clean up dog piss and cat shit. Follow the chain of events. It's been raining nonstop for a week with no end in sight. The dogs refuse to go outside to relieve themselves because they don't want to get wet. Sheena the dog pisses on the rug. I curse out loud as I just stepped in warm dog piss. I clean it. I see Sheena go by the door and start chewing something. Then another. I scream and run to where she was chewing. Cat shit. Harper the cat is so dumb he shit either a)because he smelled dog piss or b) because he is too fat to fit in his litterbox.

I only lost 1 pound last week. Then Sunday I had the worst run ever. I took Luka to the track and he was a complete asshole. And now my calf muscle hurts.

We registered at Crate & Barrel yesterday. Buy us shit!

I'm home today. It's cold. Raining. I'm going stir crazy. Our house is dripping in a few spots from the ceiling. I needed a bolt for my RD, but the hardware store is closed.

Here's a candid shot. I don't get many.

Weekend aquirements

So I think our new thing is to go to estate sales. We picked these up today.

1910-1912 Singer sewing machine
$15
Runs and everything. This is Lori's third antique sewing machine.

Early 1950's(?) Juicex juicer
$3
Works perfectly. This thing is as heavy as a rock. Made in Detroit. A lot of people don't realize that appliances actually used to be well made. Here's something we found on it. This thing rocks.

1960's or 70's Amal 932 Carburetors
$100
I needed these for my Triumph. Hopefully they work.

See daylight

The engine is in.
Missing a few bolts still.
But nothing major.
I need a welder.
Looking good.
But will it run?
Needs tuned / rejetted.
Exhaust hits the center and side stands.
Gotta finish some odds and ends.
Stay tuned.
As soon as I get this done I can start my Triumph.

There were no effects

Lori and I spent our Valentine's Day eve at The Fillmore seeing NOFX. Definitely one of the best shows I've ever been to. Those guys are over 40 and still funny as poop. They even ended their show to a lip-synched musical about racism. Simply fantastic. It always rains when we go to the Fillmore.

Why must we stay, where we don't belong, BITCH?

The welding teacher sent some pics from the class. We all look like burnt out roadies.

SHAZZAMMY!

And it only took me 3 years...
Would have taken me a week if I was motivated.

3 Arms and a tail

Lori looked up Arizona marriage laws. This is one of them

"Cousin Marriages:
Yes, first cousins may marry if both are sixty-five years of age or older. If one or both first cousins are under sixty-five years of age, they can marry if they show proof to a superior court judge that one of them is unable to reproduce."

C25K

I have nothing else to write about so I might as well write about my self improvement attempts. Lori and I both want to be super thin for the wedding, which is 9 months away. As motivation she entered us in a 5K in May. Now we have a goal.

So I'm doing the Couch Potato to 5K plan (C25K). www.c25k.com
I'm combining it with Calorie Count caloriecount.about.com

I'm only on Week 2 (I'm really on week 4 of exercise and diet monitoring) but it's starting to slowly be engrained into my life. I started off hesitant, reluctant, negative. I was quite content with my love of food. But now I actually look forward to pushing myself and that runner's high afterwards.

Do I miss junk food and fried food? YES. But, the healthy food we make is really damn good, too. Having someone around to push you certainly helps. I started at 205, I'm down to 200, and I have a goal of 185. The only thing I need is motivation.

Let's do this! UNGH!

Keep On Truckin'

They laid off 7 people from my work on Friday. Including my manager who I consider indespensible. But she told me I can't have survivor's guilt.
This is what I do because I don't have money for parts.
